Shouldn't you get a diagnosis from a psychologist or psychiatrist before you consider yourself Autistic? I was diagnosed when I was five years old with Aspergers at a time when it was not included with Autism. I'm glad you have a supportive family but they should know that media has never portrayed us in a positive light. Glee, Atypical. and Big Bang Theory play who we are for laughs which is not funny.

Positivity and Inspiration Porn on news stations and even NPR downplay the struggles and sacrifices we make to be functioning people. I know you are a Autistic Mother, I have a Dad on the spectrum who was never diagnosed and I want him to get one so he can understand not only me but that what he has is not bad. There are so many good things about him, he actually does things with me, he's honest, he's kind, helpful, non-judgmental, and faithful in everything he does no matter how hard. He's both Homer on his good days and Charlie Brown on his bad days.
